Watch Your Step When Working the Glidecam
Posted on 22. Jun, 2009 by Ryan Welch in Behind the Scenes, Vivid Wedding Films
Here’s a quick clip that shows the importance of watching your step when filming a couple while walking backwards with the Glidecam. Luckily, the camera did not hit the ground, as I did.

Meredith & Mark – Wedding: Day After
Posted on 20. Jun, 2009 by Ryan Welch in Same Day Edit
What an amazing day yesterday for Meredith and Mark’s wedding. It was a great experience and everything was beautiful, from Meredith, Mark, wedding party and First Christian Church to the reception at Valley River Inn. (I’ve heard rumor that the food was great also, but I wouldn’t know first hand as we were under the gun to get the Same Day Edit finished).
Thanks to Brittney at the Valley River Inn, Elaine of First Christian Church and photographers, Aaron and Amber of New Morning Photography, for being great to work with.
Below, are a couple of stills pulled from the video. We’ll have the same day edit within a couple of hours – it’s encoding now.

Trash the Dress Recap: Jessica & Kenny
Posted on 15. Jun, 2009 by Ryan Welch in Vivid Wedding Films
What an amazing time we had Friday with Jessica and Kenny in our Trash the Dress session. Driving over the mountains towards Bend we hit multiple rain storms and it looked like we were in for a rained-soaked shoot. After encountering a little bit of rain at our first location, the weather cooperated and we actually got a bit of sun just before it went down. Overall, a great shoot.
Jessica and Kenny are tons of fun to work with. We laughed quite a bit. They’re also pretty hard-core and willing to try just about anything – including jumping into the Deschutes River near Drake Park. Here’s a few photos from the shoot taken by Susan and Lorrie. We’ll post the video here soon.

Jessica & Kenny: The Day After
Posted on 07. Jun, 2009 by Ryan Welch in Vivid Wedding Films
Absolute blast filming Jessica and Kenny’s wedding yesterday! They were so much fun to work with. They had us and Jenny Hill (photographer) running (or tripping: more on that later) most of the day. They were up for almost anything as far as locations go. If only we had a few more hours in the day!
We were able to get over to our studio for 20 minutes to shoot some studio-style portraits of them in between locations. I had a chance this morning to glance over the footage and am very excited to start editing.
Below are a few stills pulled from the video. More soon…

Don’t Skimp on your Wedding Film!
Posted on 03. Jun, 2009 by Ryan Welch in Resources
Here’s a great little blog post from Cameo Weddings touching on the fact that brides are trying to cut corners during this economic downturn. Here’s a bit from the post:
But there are two very distinct things you should NOT skimp on. Your photographer and videographer. A lot of brides are foregoing a videographer to try and save money. It really is not worth all the memories that you will miss.
