Video-Photo Fusion Edit | Aaron & Lauren
Posted on 19. Feb, 2010 by Ryan Welch in Viewing Room
Here’s an edit we just finished up that fuses together our video clips with the photographs taken by Karen at Avayah Photography. Aaron and Lauren got married in October on a somewhat typical Oregon (Portland) fall day. Rain looked inevitable, but held off as we shot video and photos around Portland’s eastside. The contrast in the sky and the fall colors on the trees allowed for some really cool shots.
We really enjoy the melding together of these 2 great mediums (cinematography & photography) and look forward to capturing couples weddings like this in the future.

The Difference a Lens Can Make
Posted on 09. Feb, 2010 by Ryan Welch in Resources
We’ve recently been getting a lot of questions about the cameras we shoot with and specifically, the lenses we use. It’s hard to explain over the phone the difference a lens can provide in creating a shot. We have 7 lenses, and will use about 3 or 4 of them during a typical wedding.
For us, it’s about knowing what lens to use when that makes our films so powerful. Each lens changes the way to tell the story. I won’t get into too many details, rather just show you a simple example of 2 different lenses, shooting the same shot, each creating a very unique feel.
