Here is a wedding trailer for Amby and Toby from July 3rd! I must say, Port Gamble Washington is one of the most beautiful spots I’ve ever been to. Amby and Toby, your wedding was beautiful too, and I had a blast! It’s good to get back to the West Coast every once and a while.

May 28th, 2010! I had a great time with Kaity and Calvin. The day started out cloudy with a slim chance of rain but soon turned in to a beautiful evening. We walked across the Brooklyn Bridge to get some famous Brooklyn ice cream. Kaity and Calvin have a Same Day Edit coming in November!
Good luck with the wedding plans guys!
Here are a few photos I took throughout the day.

In Studio with Karen at Avayah Photography
Posted on 10. Dec, 2009 by Ryan Rossman in Behind the Scenes
One of the things we love is working with other creatives around the Northwest. Yesterday, we had the chance to work with Karen Stott of Avayah Photography on her promo video. She’s a very, very talented photographer, who loves to push the envelope in terms of creativity and what she’s offering couples as far as wedding photography is concerned. We had a great time in the studio yesterday with her. Here’s a couple of shots (one’s a video still and one is a photograph) from our shoot yesterday.

Heather and Johnny | Wedding Trailer | Malibu, California
Posted on 30. Nov, 2009 by Ryan Rossman in Destination Wedding, Trailers, Viewing Room
We don’t normally turn out trailers the day after the wedding, but since our flight from Los Angeles to Eugene got bumped, we had a few hours on our hands, and what better way to spend that time than putting together a trailer.
Here’s a quick look – a wedding day teaser – from Heather and Johnny’s wedding yesterday at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California.
Again, it was great meeting and working with photographer, Paul Thompson of Huntington House House Photography, their event coordinator, Mindy Roderick, Kim-Erin Justice, their florist and their DJ Kris of DJFX Entertainment.
Here’s also a look at their Love Story, which we filmed Friday. It played at their reception last night.
Thanks to Heather, Johnny and both their families for making this a fun trip for us. Hope you enjoy the trailer.

Heather + Johnny | Love Story | Santa Monica, California
Posted on 30. Nov, 2009 by Ryan Rossman in Love Story, Viewing Room
What an amazing wedding. We just wrapped up shooting Heather and Johnny’s wedding this evening at Calamigos Ranch in Malibu, California. The setting was beautiful and the people were too. It was great working with Heather and Johnny. We’re pretty tired now, but will post a few video stills and hopefully a trailer from the wedding soon.
It was great meeting and working with photographer, Paul Thompson of Huntington House House Photography (Huntington Beach), their event coordinator, Mindy Roderick, Kim-Erin Justice, their florist and their DJ Kris of DJFX Entertainment (it was a kickin’ party to be sure).
For now, here’s the Love Story that played this evening at the reception. We shot it Friday in Santa Monica and finalized the edit on Saturday.

Re:Frame Wedding Filmmakers Conference Recap
Posted on 29. Oct, 2009 by Ryan Rossman in Behind the Scenes, Vivid Wedding Films
Todd and I returned last week from San Francisco and the Re:Frame Filmmakers conference. It was 4 days of intense shooting technique, business management, HD workflow, branding & marketing, creative storytelling techniques, social media and more.
We both learned so much during the 4 days and are exciting to putting those things into action as we move ahead into 2010. More than anything though, we were encouraged by all the relationships we built with other filmmakers around the world. We’re also very thankful to the 4 filmmaker who founded the Re:Frame Collective: Kristin Bliss, Bruce Patterson, Jason Magbanua and Julie Hill.
Here’s a few photos from our week in San Francisco.

We had 3 models to shoot during our shoot-out at a SF park.

I loved the view from the back deck of the Party night. Alana is the model and good friend of mine that I went “Wow” you look hot Alana and commenced filming at the same time as Oleg. She looked like a movie star. Too much fun with everyone!

Whitney & Wes | Engagement Photos | Leavenworth Washington
Posted on 19. Oct, 2009 by Ryan Rossman in Vivid Wedding Films
On Friday, I met up with Whitney and Wes at a Mountain Home Lodge, an amazing location that I actually had a chance to shoot at a couple of summers ago. The colors on the trees were vibrant and really made the background pop. Everything there went as planned except that I stepped in dog poo about 2 minutes into the shoot — no one said this would be easy.
I loved the outfits that Whitney and Wes picked out. Fit the fall colors beautifully.
To finish up the shoot, we headed down the mountain into Leavenworth, which is a Bavarian-themed town with tons of character. Here’s a few snaps from the shoot. Thanks, Whitney and Wes for a great time….

Re:Frame Filmmakers Conference San Francisco

What a crazy last few days it’s been. We’re in San Francisco now, but the journey here began last Friday morning as I flew to Leavenworth, Washington to take pictures (still and motion) for Whitney and Wes’s engagement shoot. Saturday, I flew to Portland and met up with Todd to shoot Lauren and Aaron’s wedding.
Sunday morning we flew out to the Re:Frame Filmmakers Conference in San Francisco. We just finished out first day of classes and have been so impressed by what we’ve learned in just one day. It’s been invaluable to learn from the industry’s best and to chat and share stories and ideas with others around the world doing what we’re doing. Below is a short video done by a couple of our fellow filmmakers. It highlights the beginning of the conference.

Megan + Derek | A Wedding Trailer : Oregon Wedding Videography :
Posted on 24. Sep, 2009 by Ryan Rossman in Trailers, Viewing Room, Vivid Wedding Films
Here is Megan and Derek’s wedding film trailer. They were married Sunday evening at Sweet Cheeks Winery, just outside of Eugene.
It was a beautiful wedding and tons of fun to film. We had a 3-person crew from Vivid Wedding Films, capturing both still and motion pictures (photos to come soon to the blog). Derek and I go way back (middle school, I believe) and Megan and I actually worked a few days together at the ol’ Baskin & Robbins (Coburg Road, no longer there) when I was in college. Anyways, it made it fun to have so many friends at the wedding – and even seeing other couples there whose weddings we’ve filmed in the past (Jared & Amy, Sef & Cassidy + new baby!, Joe & Megan).

Megan & Derek: The Day After : Oregon Wedding Photography :

What a fun wedding last night! Megan and Derek were married at Sweet Cheeks Winery on a beautiful, late-summer day in the Willamette Valley. Ryan, Todd and Susan had the privilege to shoot both still and motion pics of the event and at first glance, came away with some really cool stuff. Here’s one shot Susan took of them just after the ceremony took place. We’ll be posting a trailer, and more photos soon.
