Alyssa and Evan were so fun to work with on this Same Day Edit. It was a pleasure being able to get to know them while working with them on a Love Story (on the blog soon also) over the past few months.

The wedding took place at Alyssa’s parents’ house just outside of Eugene – a beautiful backdrop for a beautiful wedding.

We’re so glad they chose to do the Same Day Edit. Below is a shot of Alyssa + Evan watching the film, which played around 8:45pm last night at their reception.

It was great working with Anne & Paul of Anne Nunn Photographers and Barry MacGuire of BMAC Productions.

I love this video! How amazing to relive such a happy memory for our families! I have watched it a dozen times
with a range of emotions. I will be telling our friends and
relatives to go to this website to see the behind the scenes
fun and beauty of Evan and Alyssa’s wedding day. I can’t
wait to here their comments. This will be especially great
for those who didn’t see the video that night or for guests
that couldn’t be there. Thank you for this special video because it is truly a gift.

The most beautiful wedding we’ve ever seen. Just like Evan & Alyssa – a truly beautiful couple. What a great addition to our family Alyssa is. Welcome darlin’.
An exceptional job of photography – so special for us to look at the wedding again and again.

The wedding was absolutely gorgeous and everything went so smoothly. The house and grounds were immaculately manicured and the white tents gave the event a fairy tale quality. The food was so yummy with all those fabulous appetizers, cold beverages, and scrumptious dinner. Evan and Alyssa looked every bit the fairly tale prince and princess. It was such a hot day and they looked so cool and classy throughout the entire event. Thank-you for such a great job on the video. We will long remember this as one of the finest and most beautiful weddings ever!

This was such a beautiful wedding and being able to share it with Evan & Alyssa was something our family will never forget. The Difference a Lens Can Make

Posted on 09. Feb, 2010 by Ryan Welch in Resources

We’ve recently been getting a lot of questions about the cameras we shoot with and specifically, the lenses we use. It’s hard to explain over the phone the difference a lens can provide in creating a shot. We have 7 lenses, and will use about 3 or 4 of them during a typical wedding.

For us, it’s about knowing what lens to use when that makes our films so powerful. Each lens changes the way to tell the story. I won’t get into too many details, rather just show you a simple example of 2 different lenses, shooting the same shot, each creating a very unique feel.

Sweet! We were excited to see that one of our films from last summer with Ryan and Molly got picked up by The Knot. The wedding took place at Zenith Vineyard, an amazing wedding location just outside of Salem, Oregon.  Check it out here.

Totally stoked  to announce that we are producing an exciting new blog series, no doubt it  will be a valuable resource for brides looking for tips from some of the Willamette Valley’s most sought after wedding vendors. We should be launching in the coming weeks, with plans to release a new video every month or so.  The team here at Vivid Wedding Films is blessed to work alongside of so many gifted wedding specialists.  Here is a peak behind the scenes at Studio 385 in Eugene, of course the shoot was a bunch of fun, the first vendor to be featured in the series is our good friend Karen Stott of Avayah Photography. Look for Karens video to be up and running soon.

Megan and Derek were married on September 20th at Sweet Cheeks Winery just outside Eugene. It was a near-perfect day (just slightly windy) and we hope we captured that in their photos and Feature Film.

Absolute blast filming Jessica and Kenny’s wedding yesterday! They were so much fun to work with. They had us and Jenny Hill (photographer) running (or tripping: more on that later) most of the day. They were up for almost anything as far as locations go. If only we had a few more hours in the day!

We were able to get over to our studio for 20 minutes to shoot some studio-style portraits of them in between locations.  I had a chance this morning to glance over the footage and am very excited to start editing.

Below are a few stills pulled from the video. More soon…

We have been so overwhelmed with responses for our Wedding Films this season. We have had the opportunity to collaborate with so many great couples, and the year is just starting.

We’re very excited about the Same Day Wedding Edits we’ve got lined up this year. Our team is currently working on some new ways to take those to another level. Those additions, along with our jump to full High-Definition are going to lead to some amazing wedding films for some amazing couples this summer.

For those who have not yet seen what a Same Day Edit looks like, here’s a peek on one. This video played for Stephanie and Andrew about 2 hours after they said “I Do.” It was also recently entered (along with their entire wedding) to The Knot’s ‘Best Weddings of 2008′ contest.
