Emily and Dan are getting married tomorrow in Cabo, Mexico. We’re fortunate enough to be filming their special day.

This is their ‘Love Story’ that will play just before the ceremony at the Cabo Azul Resort.

We’ve recently been getting a lot of questions about the cameras we shoot with and specifically, the lenses we use. It’s hard to explain over the phone the difference a lens can provide in creating a shot. We have 7 lenses, and will use about 3 or 4 of them during a typical wedding.

For us, it’s about knowing what lens to use when that makes our films so powerful. Each lens changes the way to tell the story. I won’t get into too many details, rather just show you a simple example of 2 different lenses, shooting the same shot, each creating a very unique feel.

It’s a first for Vivid Wedding Films, but we’ll be at two wedding shows this weekend – Eugene and Bend.

Wow. What a gorgeous day we ended up having this past saturday to share with Aaron and Lauren and their family up in the West Linn area just outside of Portland. It absolutely poured sheets of rain earlier in the day, but God was showing us some favor with a break for sunshine and autumn color hitting us from every direction. Here is a video still we shot just before the sun set behind the mountain.
One of my favorite scenes of the day was when the bride and groom ran out the door after being pronounced husband and wife and headed to this belfry in the old church and rang it out with a couple of good tugs on the rope.

What made filming Jessica and Kenny’s wedding day so fun was the fact that they themselves had an absolute blast! They seemed to ‘skip’ just about every location we took them to and the smiles on their faces never ceased. Here’s their wedding film.

We just hope we were able to capture the joy these two expressed on their special day.

We just finalized Sef and Cassidy’s wedding film. 

Their ceremony took place at the Jordan Schnitzer Museum of Art on University of Oregon’s campus. It was a small ceremony – mostly just family – that took place in this courtyard-type area in the middle of the museum. It was, for sure, one of the most unique places we’ve filmed a ceremony. It provided some really cool shots.
